I’m not sure why alternative musicians migrated to the genre of film scoring, but I have to say that I’m all about it. Ever since Explosions in the Sky did the poignant, emotionally charged score for Friday Night Lights, artists such as Nick Cave, Arcade Fire, and Daft Punk have enhanced films with their own distinct musical styles. The Chemical Brothers do the same thing with Hanna, delivering a sonically visceral, and oftentimes playful, musical feat.
On a side note, there’s a track on the score titled “Hanna vs Marissa”, characters played by Saoirse Ronan and Cate Blanchett respectively. I want to see this fight scene. Badly.
